Anjani Kumar is the Chief Digital and Information Officer at Ather Energy, where he leads the company's digital and enterprise technology strategy. His mandate spans customer-facing digital products and platforms, enterprise applications, IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, data and AI, helping build the technology backbone that powers Ather's products, operations, and business.
With over 25 years of experience in enterprise technology and digital transformation, Anjani has led large-scale technology initiatives across automotive, insurance, pharmaceuticals, logistics, consulting, and technology services. He began his career at IBM in 2000, where he rose to lead the Digital Business Unit, driving global digital strategy and sales for pharmaceutical and life sciences clients with a focus on mobility and analytics.
He later served as CIO at Safexpress, where he led one of India's earliest enterprise-scale IoT deployments in 2015 and spearheaded the company's migration to AWS. He subsequently held leadership roles as Global Chief Digital Officer at Collabera, Regional CIO at Nissan, and CIO at Strides, where he led the company's "Path2Digital" transformation, introducing Industry 4.0 practices across manufacturing operations. Before joining Ather, he was Chief Technology Officer and Executive Vice President at Tata AIG General Insurance, leading the company's technology and digital transformation agenda.
Anjani holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Rourkela, and a postgraduate degree in Marketing and Management from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. He also completed the Business of AI executive programme at London Business School in 2021.
