About me
Avyana Mehta is a 16-year-old climate innovator, author and podcast host from Jaipur, India. She is the founder of Plastic2Build, a youth-led nonprofit operating across 20+ countries that has repurposed over 5,000 kg of plastic waste into construction materials and engaged more than 9,000+ people across its five programme streams. She co-developed Plas-Stick, a tamarind-based microplastic water filtration technology that won the Earth Prize 2026 globally, with coverage across Reuters, BBC, the Times of India, NDTV and the Economic Times.
Avyana authored The Effort, a book drawn from conversations with 40+ founders and CEOs on what sustains meaningful work over time, and hosts Sustainify360, a podcast with 2,300+ listens, exploring sustainability practice across water, waste, governance and biodiversity.
In January 2026, she became the youngest-ever panelist at the Jaipur Literature Festival, speaking alongside World Bank consultant Mr. Prem Shankar Jha and Ms. Mridula Ramesh of the Sundaram Climate Institute on environmental governance and climate action.
