About me
Deepesh Kiran Nanda is the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of HyperVault, TCS's AI Data Centre business. He leads the creation of a next-generation, AI-native, hyperscaler-ready data centre business that brings together digital infrastructure, sustainability, and energy intelligence at scale.
Under his leadership, TCS is developing over 1 GW of liquid-cooled data centre capacity across India and select global markets, positioning the Tata Group at the intersection of power and digital transformation.
His focus is on building infrastructure that is not just ready for AI today but designed to evolve with it. That means high-density compute, responsible energy use, and the execution discipline to deliver at hyperscale.
Deepesh brings more than three decades of global experience, combining industrial depth, technology leadership, and cross-border execution. As Managing Director and CEO of Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), he built one of India's most integrated clean-energy portfolios, spanning 11.8 GW across solar, wind, and battery storage. He also established a 4.3 GW integrated solar cell and module manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu. His disciplined approach to capital allocation, project execution, and sustainability positioned TPREL as a benchmark in India's energy transition.
Prior to Tata Power, Deepesh spent 14 years at General Electric, serving as CEO for GE's power businesses across South and Southeast Asia. He led the regional launch and commercialisation of GE's H-class gas turbines and advanced aeroderivative technologies and spearheaded the integration of GE's $13 billion acquisition of Alstom's power business in South Asia, an effort recognised globally within GE for its operational and cultural excellence.
Deepesh began his career at The Sanmar Group, where he rose to CEO of the Anderson Greenwood Crosby Safety Valve business, one of India's most respected engineering manufacturing operations. That early grounding in manufacturing, policy, and finance has shaped his leadership philosophy: disciplined execution combined with innovation and long-term purpose.
An engineer by training, Deepesh graduated top of his class in Mechanical and Production Engineering from Annamalai University and holds an MBA from the Open University Business School, UK. He has completed executive programmes at INSEAD and Cambridge and has spoken at Harvard Business School on India's clean-energy transition and the future of sustainable infrastructure.
