Dr. Nagendra Nagaraja is the Founder, CEO and Chairman of QpiAI India Private Limited, a full-stack quantum computing and deep technology company headquartered in India. Under his leadership, QpiAI has built India's most powerful 64-qubit and 25-qubit quantum computer and has grown into a leading deep technology organization with a team of over 150 professionals.
Dr. Nagaraja has played an active role in India's national technology initiatives, including the National Quantum Mission and IndiaAI Mission. QpiAI is one of the startups selected as a part of the National Quantum Mission. He also represented India as part of the Indian delegation to the White House, USA, for the Initiative on Critical and Emerging Technology, known as iCET, at the invitation of NSA Shri Ajit Doval. He is a member of the BIS's Sectional Committee for Quantum Technologies and Applications and is actively engaged in developing standards for quantum computing. He has also served as Co-Chair of the ASSOCHAM Startup Committee.
Dr. Nagaraja brings more than 25 years of industry experience across semiconductor electronics, wireless systems, artificial intelligence and advanced computing. Before founding QpiAI, he held technical leadership roles at Qualcomm, ST-Ericsson and Nvidia, where he led and contributed to several global technology and product initiatives. In 2016, he founded AlphaICs, India's first AI chip company focused on agent-based computing.
A serial entrepreneur, Dr. Nagaraja is focused on building deep technology businesses with strong societal relevance and large market potential.
He holds a Ph.D. in Wireless, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence from Coventry University, United Kingdom, and a Master's degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, USA. He also holds a PGD-Business Management from the Indian Institute of Management, Bengaluru. He has more than 35 granted patents across AI, ML, quantum computing, security, wireless and multimedia technologies, along with several pending patents.
