Sven Patuschka is the Chief Technology Officer of Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles (TMPV) and Tata Passenger Electric Mobility (TPEM), leading a global R&D function having 2000 plus engineers with R&D centres in India, Italy and the United Kingdom.
Sven brings 25+ years of R&D leadership experience in Automotive OEMs across vehicle design, full vehicle projects, Electrical & Electronics, Autonomous Driving, Connected Services, User Experience and Battery/Charging for New Energy Vehicles. Sven joined Tata Motors in February, 2023 as Chief Technology Officer of TMPV and assumed the additional role of CTO - TPEM in May, 2023.
Sven is a German and has lived and worked in various countries in Asia, Europe and Africa with majority of his career shaped in Germany, the birthplace of Automobiles and China, the land of New Age Tech. An avid cyclist, you will find him zipping through the mountainous roads in and around Pune on weekend mornings or enjoying a brisk run along nature trails.
An Electrical Engineering Masters degree holder from Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany, Sven has held leadership roles in multiple geographies and countries across Asia and Europe where he had responsibility for entire development value chain. In his previous role, he was responsible for setting up R&D Organization for Hyundai in China with special focus on Innovation, Autonomous Driving, Digital Design, User Experience, Connectivity and Infotainment. He was responsible for introduction of Over The Air (OTA) updateability and Development and Implementation of Level 2+ Autonomous Driving Functions in China for Hyundai.
During his stint in Volkswagen group, he led the Mobility Asia set up and implemented the first Connected Services Products for VW group in Asia and led the development of HV battery systems for BEV and Plug-in Hybrid vehicles. He was also responsible for introduction of brand Skoda vehicles in China.
